Tread plates

A brilliant surface, narrow tolerances and customisable dimensions are Impol’s advantages when it comes to tread plate whose mechanical properties are adapted to the customer’s requirements and comply with the international EN, CE and ASTM standards. Given the customer’s wishes, tread plate can also be subject to further bending and cutting treatment or applied for decorative purposes.

Impol manufactures tread plate from selected 1000, 3000 and 5000 series alloys. The tread plate can be soft, semi-hard and hard, the surface can also includefive bar (Quintet), two bar (Duet) and diamond (Diamond) patterns. The company can either produce tread plate with standard dimensions which is usually in stock or tread plate customised to the customer’s dimensions with more stringent tolerances than the one listed in the standard in question.

Intended use

Tread plate can be applied in:

  • transport industry,
  • machinery industry,
  • construction – for the manufacturing of staircases, swimming pool lining or shaft covers,
  • manufacturing of consumer products.

Technological manufacturing process

Tread plate is manufactured from rolling slabs subject to hot rolling to the prescribed thickness. Cooling thereof is followed by cold rolling and treading, followed by thermal treatment and cutting to the final dimensions. All these operations combined provide for the desired final tread plate dimensions and quality.

Compliance with international standards

    • EN 573-3 Aluminium and aluminium alloys - Chemical composition and form of wrought products – Part 3: Chemical composition and form of products
    • EN 1386 Aluminium and aluminium alloys - Tread plate - Specifications
    • EN 15088 Aluminium and aluminium alloys - Structural products for construction work - Technical conditions for inspection and delivery
