Competencies model for employees’ pleasure at work

Impol is going to prepare and introduce a competencies model for selected key workplaces between August and November.

With the help of the consulting organization BM Consulting, Impol is going to prepare and incorporate a competencies model for selected key workplaces between August and November. Introducing competencies for all other workplaces will be taking place independently and we expect to have defined competencies for all employees’ profiles by the end of the next year.

What does this mean and what is the purpose of introducing these competencies? The word “competency” has a number of meanings – in a report and model, we understand competency as a chance or set of possibilities for successful management of a certain unit in the framework of a workplace or behavioural characteristics enabling employees adequate behaviour at their workplaces and within the collective.

The competency model has found its place in the Slovenian economy in the last two years and its biggest advantage is harmonization of the company’s expectations with expectations of each employee. This means that an employee knows what is expected from them and is at the same time aware of the benefits they can expect when successfully meeting all the objectives set for their workplace.

Certainly, it is not enough to monitor merely work results leading to meeting expectations and visions of Impol; our employees’ behaviour, which must comply with basic values of Impol, is of equal importance.
