Impol continues to reduce aluminium’s carbon footprint

Impol Group continues to implement its decarbonisation strategy. In 2025, we reduced the carbon footprint per tonne of aluminium produced to 8.94 t CO₂e, 17% below the 2021 baseline.

In 2025, we:

  • achieved a 5% share of renewable electricity, in line with the target for the year,
  • increased the share of ingots with a carbon footprint below 4 t CO₂e/t Al from 11% to 12%,
  • increased the share of ingots with a carbon footprint below 6 t CO₂e/t Al from 16% to 19%.

The achieved carbon footprint remains above the 2025 target of 7.24 t CO₂e/t Al, equivalent to a 33% reduction from 2021. Impol Group’s long-term target is to reduce the carbon footprint per tonne of aluminium by 58% by 2030, compared with 2021.
