Rods for forgings

Impol offers a very wide range of circular rods and profile and section shapes whose shape matches the customer’s requirements to the greatest extent. The material can be applied for both safety and other car parts.

Wide range of special alloys

Impol offers a wide range of 2xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx and 8xxx alloy groups that can be supplied in various shapes and dimensions that meet our customers’ wishes. Our special alloys and procedures facilitate the achievement of mechanical properties far beyond standard regulations. Impol has also developed a special sort of group 4xxx alloys for pistons with excellent formability at higher temperatures.

Quality is of the greatest importance

Top-quality products also need to be subject to procedures and controls that allow for the manufacturing of faultless safety components. Impol provides for micro- and macroscopic microstructure control, 100 % control of Class A and B rods, macroscopic rod end control and 100% ultrasonic control of extrusion ends. Rod surface roughness is also measured. The entire manufacturing process from alloys to rods is computerised, thus facilitating parameter process records and consequently 100% product traceability and manufacturing control. All manufacturing processes are certified in compliance with the most recent automotive industry standard requirements and regulations.

Key facts

Impol provides for a wide range of alloys of specific chemical compositions in a wide range of 2xxx, 4xxx, 6xxx and 7xxx alloy groups and shapes adjusted to the customer’s requirements.

Dimensions – rods

Maximum dimensions of sectional rods (square, hexagonal or flat) depend on the type or group of aluminium alloys.

Round rods

Hexagonal rods

Square rods

Flat rods

Profiles, sections and rods are of different lengths, for example from 2000 to 7000 mm, although longer dimensions, for example from 3000 to 12000 mm, can be provided upon agreement as well.
